About
You're the king, and everyone else on the board wants you gone. Lucky for you, they're creatures of habit. Every piece runs the same little routine over and over, forever. Figure out the routine, slip through the gap, take the stairs.
How it works
- You move one square at a time, in any of the eight directions.
- Every other piece follows a fixed routine that loops. No dice, no surprises.
- Step onto a piece to capture it. Step onto a square it attacks and it captures you.
- You can't skip a turn. Standing still is not a plan.
- Reach the stairs. Some levels lock them until you've grabbed every key.
Who's out to get you
- Pawn Only hits diagonally forward. You can stare it right in the face.
- Knight Jumps in an L. Doesn't care what's in the way.
- Bishop Diagonals, as far as it can see.
- Rook Straight lines, as far as it can see.
- Queen Rook and bishop in one. Give her room.
- Camel A knight with longer legs: three one way, one the other.
- Nightrider A knight that doesn't stop. Hop, hop, hop, same direction.
- Archbishop Bishop plus knight.
- Chancellor Rook plus knight.
- Cannon Slides like a rook, but only hits you after it hops over something.
- Amazon Queen plus knight. Good luck.
